Doctor Who: The Third Doctor Volume 1 - The Heralds of Destruction is a comic book featuring the Third Doctor's era. The book is a love note to the era with captures of everything wonderful about the Doctor, the Brigader, Jo, and the Master. It tells a good story with a solid surprise villain. The only downside is that it's not a great entry point for fans who didn't see the 70s series; knowledge of the classic series is must for enjoying it. The writing is done by Paul Cornell and he is matched in step by step with Christopher Jones' artwork which feels like its right out of that era. Though the book is lightweight, it's fun to read and the artwork is superb.
