The monthly fee for LeapFrog Academy using the Epic Academy Edition is $5.99, which is $2 cheaper than other devices. The device comes with an AC adapter, parental controls, and the ability to set playtime limits. It is also expandable up to 32GB with an SD card. However, it comes with a stylus that is not durable, and finding a replacement could be a challenge as LeapFrog currently doesn't have it in stock. It is not possible to download Android apps from the Play Store. Overall, the LeapFrog Epic Academy Edition is a good tablet for kids with great parental controls and educational content. However, some parts like the stylus don't seem to be well made.
